- Supervises ground maintenance activities by scheduling, training and assigning duties, taking service requests, completing time sheets, keeping work records and logs, conducting performance evaluations and conducting daily team meetings.
- Supervises activities related to funeral services by monitoring the performance of employees and conducting team meetings.
- Monitors equipment maintenance, packing of graves, gasoline issued, pesticide logs, completed work orders, inventory, personnel information and program effectiveness by keeping logs and records.
- Manages the maintenance of grounds and landscaping by seeding, fertilizing, spraying, mowing, trimming, installing sod, applying herbicides, preparing and planting flowers, shrub beds and trees, pulling weeds, watering plants, trimming trees and shrubs, raking leaves and picking up litter.
- Performs and supervises the daily maintenance of equipment by changing blades, lubricating equipment and performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Supervises emergency response by clearing streets, walkways, assisting emergency personnel and being on call to respond to emergencies.
Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, to understand simple processes and the routine operation of machines. Level of knowledge equivalent to less than high school or equivalency.
One years' experience in groundskeeper and supervisory or lead experience.
- Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Pesticide Applications Certificate 3A & 3B
- Commercial Class B Driver’s License
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm
Signing Bonus: This position is eligible for a one-time $5,000 signing bonus for applications received on or after February 22, 2022. The signing bonus will be paid in two (2) increments: $2,500 upon completion of 60 days of employment, and $2,500 upon completion of your probationary period. To receive the signing bonus, you must be an active employee in good standing.
Salary : $41,775 - $68,093
