What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at City of North Myrtle Beach?
General Statement of Job
Under general supervision, performs cashiering activities in the collection of water bill payments from the public. Performs various related activities as assisting customers, maintaining customer files, preparing documents and reports, entering data into the computer, etc.
Minimum Training and Experience
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- One to two years of bookkeeping, cashiering, customer service or related experience
Note:
- The City retains the right to determine equivalencies.
- Any certifications not possessed at hire, must be obtained before the employee is removed from probation in order to continue employment with the City.
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically able to operate an automobile and a variety of automated office machines, which includes a typewriter, calculator, cash register, copier, computer, meter reading units, etc. Must be able to exert up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to twenty pounds.
