Looking for a winter job with the chance to be outside, get some exercise, and help provide a fun winter activity? Then our outdoor rinks and warming houses may be perfect for you! This is a short season that is weather dependent, and we are looking for staff who can help make our rinks a great place to hang out and skate this winter.
Timeframe: Late December through February - depending on Mother Nature!

- Weekdays: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.
- Saturdays: 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.
- Sundays: 12 p.m. - 7 p.m.
- Some weekdays during non-school days: 1 p.m. - 8 p.m.
- Walton Park (pleasure rink and hockey - 1584 Hadley Avenue North)
- Eastside Park (hockey rink - 1744 Helmo Avenue North)
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to have fun and work well with the general public to ensure a good experience for all users
- Ensure a fun & safe skating environment
- Ability to work responsibly and with minimal supervision
- Ability to work flexible work hours (evenings & weekends)
- Enjoy working outdoors and interacting with people
- Help all users understand warming house and rink rules and regulations to ensure a good experience for all users
- Prepare attendance reports
- Maintain safe and clean ice surfaces by scraping and removing snow from rinks.
- Maintain clean warming house (i.e. sweep, empty trash).
- Promptly open, close, and secure the warming house according to schedule.
- Effective and respectful communication and interaction with other employees, supervisors, individuals from other organizations, and the general public.
- Assist skaters as needed.
- At least 16 years old
- Able to do light to medium snow shoveling
- Effective communication skills
- Responsible and reliable
- The ability to skate is not necessary
