ABOUT THIS POSITION

Over 50 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2024, one of the busiest airports in the country in the nation's 5th largest city. Sky Harbor is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports) which is operated by the City of Phoenix Aviation Department and has an economic impact over $44 billion annually.


The Aviation Department has a vacancy for an Account Clerk III position. This position will perform highly skilled paraprofessional work using computerized database systems in a specialized area or in a variety of complex City functions. The Account Clerk III may also assist Records Clerks with documenting and tracking GT permits, driver placards, single use permits, and AVI tags; processing Lost & Found property including, claims, reports and records, and ensuring the property is dispositioned correctly into lost and found database (logged, tracked, returned, donated, or disposed).


Duties may also include:

  • Detecting errors, discrepancies, and taking steps to correct.
  • Coordinating, preparing, and verifying City computer data.
  • Reviewing expired and cancelled insurance reports.
  • Handling direct customer service via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Reviewing and auditing Sierra Auction invoicing and outstanding items reports.
  • Reviewing and auditing vehicular 19-point inspections/attestations.
  • Creating, reviewing, and/or auditing revenue billing/invoices and contracts in SAP.
  • Creating, reviewing, and/or auditing daily, weekly or monthly reports, end-of-day transactions, and Lost and Found disposition records.



SALARY

Pay Range: $19.07 to $29.58 per hour.

Hiring Range: $19.07 to $26.83 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three years of bookkeeping and clerical accounting experience.
  • Including experience in preparing financial reports.
  • Supplemented by courses in bookkeeping and accounting.
  • Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

  • Experience working with software such as SAP, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service (face-to-face, over the phone, and resolving issues).
  • Experience in performing highly detailed data entry in a fast-paced environment and maintaining and auditing records.
  • Experience in handling various transactions while working in a heavy customer service environment is highly desired.
  • Experience with detailed data entry and auditing, maintaining and auditing records, and checking for accuracy and errors.
