What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Process Summer Intern position at City of Raleigh North Carolina?
The Plant Process Summer Intern assists with analyzing process functions, formulation, and modeling. This role works with various Program Managers and reports to the Resource Recovery Division Operations Superintendent.

- Evaluates plant and pumping processes as assigned, including chemical treatment and biological activities
- Performs detailed mathematical analysis and accurate trending to provide sound, supportive recommendations
- Provides research to address division needs and concerns
- Advises superiors, managers, and supervisors on the findings of assigned projects. Interacts with on-site utility construction and engineering firms and consultant
- Spends up to 40 hours in our Operations and Maintenance Program, working alongside existing plant staff to gain insightful knowledge
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Willingness to learn to operate various lab equipment and instruments, water/wastewater plant equipment, analysis and testing devices, and standard office machines
- Experience with various data software such as access database and/or SQL databases, statistical analysis software, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel Word)
