Position Details
As a member of the Parks Garden Crew, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Parks Maintenance crews in the planting, maintenance, and care of the gardens and green spaces throughout Rapid City. Your work will be a hands-on approach that enriches the local community through the maintenance and enhancement of our parks, trails, recreation facilities, and urban forest.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Transplanting seedlings.
- Flower garden maintenance, planting flowers in the gardens, and rose pruning.
- Pulling weeds and pruning shrubs.
- Controlling litter.
- Fertilizing turf.
- Other various tasks as necessary to maintain the City landscapes.

Minimum Qualifications
Age: 14 years or older.- Education/Experience: A basic understanding or skills in gardening.
- Licenses: A valid driver's license is a plus.
- Physical Demands: This position is highly active and physical in nature, requiring candidates to possess a good level of physical fitness and endurance. Employees must have the ability to maneuver and operate within various outdoor settings, adapting to the terrain and tasks at hand.
