We are offering two sessions for you to attend:
Morning, 8am -12pm
Afternoon, 1pm - 4pm
During this event we will be accepting applications, conducting basic skills testing, on-the-spot interviews, and making same-day contingent offers to passing candidates.

Our teams work 10-hour days, four days a week Monday-Thursday, giving you one business day off per week. The start date for these positions begins on April 2, 2025, and continue through September 30, 2025. Important Position Details:
- Monday – Thursday (40 hrs. /wk.), generally 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Positions start April 2 through June 30, depending on specific work group needs and continue through September 30.
- Successful applicants must provide own steel-toed, safety boots (City will provide 50% toward that purchase, not to exceed $100).
Locations: Work locations will be around the City of Redmond and will vary pending crew assignment.
Public Works Maintenance Aides work with full-time Public Works Maintenance Technicians performing routine tasks within Public Works Maintenance programs including:
- Manual labor such as hand digging, weed eating, raking, edging, and other means of mechanical vegetation control.? Litter pick-up.
- Cleaning and repairing trails and grounds.
- Performing various maintenance at public facilities.
- Traffic control in a work zone of a city right-of-way.
- Cleaning and painting fire hydrants and/or roadway curbs.
- Installing water meters.
- Using standard hand tools (screw drivers, saws, hammers, shovel, pitchfork, rake, blowers, weed eaters, and walk behind mowers).
Physical Demands
- Outdoor work environment subject to seasonal heat and adverse weather conditions driving a vehicle and operating equipment to conduct work.
- Exposure to traffic, noise, hazardous materials and fumes.
- Incumbents are required to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, stand, and/or walk over rough and uneven ground.
- Position requires physical stamina, manual dexterity, hearing and visual acuity.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in maintenance or other related work preferred.
- Valid Washington State driver's license by date of hire and a driving record that meets City standards.
- Possession of a valid flagging card and an adult first aid/CPR card is desirable
