The City of Richmond is seeking a highly skilled AI and Data Science Architect to design, develop, and implement AI and data science solutions that support the city's public services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI, machine learning, and data architecture, and will be responsible for ensuring the ethical and effective use of AI technologies in public services.
- Develop and implement AI and data science strategies to enhance public services
- Design and maintain data architectures that ensure data quality, integrity, and security
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data requirements and develop solutions
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines, data privacy, and security regulations
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of AI systems to ensure they meet intended goals and adhere to ethical guidelines
- Provide training and support for public officials on AI technologies and data management
- Report and document the decision-making processes of AI systems to ensure accountability
The incumbent in this position may be required to serve on-call 24 hours/7 days a week to provide support to rotating on-call staff for assigned critical systems and applications.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Four years of journey-level professional systems development experience

- An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification
LICENSING, CERTIFICATIONS, and OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

PREFERRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Masters Degree preferred
- 5 years of experience in AI, machine learning, and data architecture.
- Proficiency in AI and machine learning frameworks, data modeling tools, and technologies
- Project Management Practitioner's Certification preferred
- Strong understanding of ethical considerations in AI and Data Science
Salary : $79,985 - $159,874
