Summary Objective
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, this role performs essential technical work within the Fleet Services Division of the Public Works Department. Responsibilities include the repair, maintenance, and inspection of small engine equipment, lawn maintenance machinery, and fleet vehicles, including diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, fabricating parts, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. Additionally, this role assists in the operation of a central parts warehouse, including organizing, inventorying, and issuing stock, generating reports, and supporting efficient inventory management; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
Three (3) years' commercial small engine and/or fleet repair experience, environmental regulations or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Formal training in small engine repair or related field highly preferred.
Ability to provide tools with locking toolbox necessary to perform the work.
Must possess a valid Florida Class E Driver's License.
