The National Volleyball Center is a multi-use building, which is highly tuned for the sport of volleyball. Located adjacent to Century High School, it gives southern Minnesota a sporting complex surpassed by none. The building and equipment are of world class standards, from the Bio-Cushion II floor to the Olympic quality lighting. There are eight courts within the Center with three additional courts in Century High School.
Nature of Work
The City of Rochester is currently accepting applications for part-time seasonal/temporary Attendant positions for the National Volleyball Center. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing patron use of the facility while providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean, safe facility.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position will be scheduled varied hours, as needed, primarily weekends through May.
PAY RATE: $13.66 - $16.81 per hour.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The work below is representative of the scope of work performed within this job classification. Individual job duties will vary based on work assignment.
- Oversee patron use of facility
- Collect fees from customers to insure proper billing
- Assist with event management by collecting and/or recording scores and presenting awards
- Officiate volleyball matches as needed
- Set up and tear down nets, tables, and chairs for user groups
- Maintain cleanliness of facility including emptying trash, mopping floors, and cleaning glass, etc. as needed
- Monitor and restock supplies as needed
- Monitor and enforce facility use rules and standards
- Perform any other duties as assigned or necessary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a High School diploma or the equivalent (GED)
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have the ability to deal professionally and tactfully with the public in person and on the phone

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CRITERIA

Continuous demands: sitting, standing
Frequent demands: walking, climbing stairs, ladders, and bleachers, balancing, kneeling, crouching, twisting, bending, reaching and handling, pushing and pulling, carrying
Occasional demands: lifting and carrying objects from 10-100 pounds
Sensory requirements necessary in the performance of the essential functions of this position include: sight, hearing, and touch
Environmental conditions that may exist in the performance of the essential functions of this job include:
