What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civilian Intern - Crime Scene position at City of Round Rock?
The Summer Student Internship Program with the City of Round Rock is designed to provide an on-the-job opportunity to gain "real world" work experience in a career-related professional workforce environment. This is an administrative internship program.
The intern will have an opportunity to interact with multiple divisions within the department throughout the internship program. During this time the intern will have an over-arching research project assignment that will incorporate some part of their experience with each division. The intern will be able to work on this project during the duration of the internship, including during "down time" throughout their time at the department.
Documents crime scenes using photographic and video equipment
Attends and photographs autopsies; organizes photographs taken by others; maintains the integrity of digital images.
Processes scenes for latent prints; properly identifies and collects items of evidence; maintains chain of custody.
Examines, identifies, manage, and properly store latent prints
Maintains transferred evidence in a secure environment; handles hazardous substances; writes detailed reports
- Assists with creating mock crime scenes; maintains supplies and equipment
Undergraduate Intern
- Be enrolled full-time or a recent graduate of an accredited university or college
- Must be classified as an Undergrad student and provide an unofficial transcript and resume
- Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0
Graduate Intern
- Be enrolled full-time or a recent graduate of an accredited university or college
- Must be classified as a Graduate student and provide an unofficial transcript and resume
- Must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4.0
Salary : $15 - $17
