Under general supervision, is responsible for performing police support services to include entering police reports, updating the NCIC/TCIC files for recovered or stolen property, performing building and grounds security and providing customer service. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment. May exercise supervision over assigned staff.

- Enters reports to update uniform crime reporting system and State and Federal records system.
- Updates National Criminal Investigation Center and Texas Criminal Investigation Center (NCIC/TCIC) files for recovered or stolen property.
- Performs building and grounds security including testing of all station alarm systems.
- Provides customer service (i.e. provide basic information and necessary police forms to citizens).
- Assists in the research of information on Police reports when requested by field officers.
- Takes photographs of victims of domestic violence; sorts and downloads photographs on computer.
- Sorts and distributes mail and incoming Police reports, faxes and subpoenas.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
- Two (2) years of data processing or other computer related experience. Additional experience in the law enforcement field or as a Police Services Agent is highly desirable.
- Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and Family Violence Convictions.
- Valid Texas Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center (TCIC/NCIC) Certification required within one (1) year of employment.

- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
