JOB SUMMARY
The primary function of an employee in this position is to assist lead counselor(s) in the day-to-day operations of programs and provide supervision to program participants. Work is performed under the general direction of the lead counselor(s), but under the direct supervision of the Recreation Programs Superintendent. The principal duties of the position may be performed in an indoor or outdoor environment which may expose the employee to adverse weather conditions or excessive noise.

- Assists lead counselors in the day-to-day operations of programs
- Provides supervision to program participants.
- Handles equipment needed for various activities to include but not limited to taking out balls, bats, etc. and returning to proper place at the end of activities.
- Provides instruction for a variety of camp programs including but not limited to group games, crafts, free play, swimming, bicycle riding.
- Helps maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Responsible for the safety and well-being of program participants.
- Reports all infractions or issues to immediate supervisor.
- Assists with checking areas at the beginning of the day to make sure they are clean, healthy, and free from hazards.
- Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of program participants.
- Assis with participant counts periodically throughout the day, including field trips to the waterfront.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
