Under general supervision, performs skilled and specialized labor including complex physical and mechanical tasks. Responsible for the construction and routine maintenance of infrastructure and related equipment and facilities including parks, deemed necessary by the supervisor for the successful operation of the department. It is imperative job duties are performed with respect, integrity, objectivity and in the best interest of the City. This position requires a high level of confidentiality. All City employees are expected to be honest and truthful at all times.
- Performs semi-skilled and skilled maintenance duties in the construction, repair, and maintenance of infrastructure, buildings, equipment, mechanical systems, and various activities under the authority of the Department of Public Works.
- Builds tables, benches, fryers, and other equipment.
- Maintains power and hand tools in good working order through proper use, cleaning, and repairs.
- Assigns work, oversees and gives effective on the job instructions to any assigned helpers.
- Performs safe and effective operation of plow trucks and wings and related snow and ice removal equipment and hauls sand, gravel, dirt, snow, salt, garbage, yard waste, materials, and equipment deemed necessary.
- Keeps accurate records, makes reports, and performs additional tasks as required by supervision when said tasks are deemed proper for the operation of the department.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and appropriate endorsements upon hire or have the ability to obtain the same within six months of hire required.
- At least two years recent and relevant experience required.
- Must possess considerable knowledge of practices, tools, and equipment used in the trades learned through previous work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of the proper uses and techniques for using materials, equipment, and power and hand tools for grounds and building maintenance, repair, construction, and other departmental activities.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safe work practices relating to these trades.
- A high sense of responsibility and initiative to work independently without supervision from oral and written instructions and sketches or blueprints.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to properly instruct and oversee helpers.
- Ability to work with public and employees.
- Basic knowledge of mathematical principles.
- Strong interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills and a strong sense of responsibility and initiative.
Salary : $55,120
