In this pivotal role, you’ll serve as the principal assistant to the HR Director.

What You’ll Do:

• Directly lead and manage key HR Divisions, including Employment and Training, with responsibility for the full-service selection cycle ranging from recruitment, selection, and onboarding; to new employee orientation programs; and city-wide training and development programs.
• Partner with HR colleagues, City leadership, employees, and external stakeholders to drive impactful HR initiatives that support staff at every level.
• Interpret and apply HR laws, City policies, and procedures with confidence and accuracy.
• Inspire and support staff in fostering innovation, professional growth, and continuous development.

Experience, Education, and Training

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration, or a related field;

• An equivalent combination of education and professional HR certification(s);

• Four years of professional experience in a centralized human resources department which includes a variety of program areas as well as supervisory and management-level experience. 

• Experience in government or public sector human resources.
• Master's degree in a related area.

Licensing/Certification

• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CLRP, SPHR, or PHR certification desirable, but not required.
