This is a responsible clerical position providing support to the Water Resources Department’s Wastewater Maintenance Division. Work is conducted primarily in an office environment providing support to the division manager and supervisory staff related to the Wastewater Maintenance Division to include the budget process, contract management, technical writing, data entry, research, report generation, procurement of needed office and field operations supplies, and maintenance of the Division Manager’s engineering project files. Work frequently requires effective communication on the telephone and in writing with division staff, members of the public and other agencies.
Salary: $19.39 - $29.45 Hourly

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Have a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Have six (6) months progressively responsible office experience in clerical and sub-professional engineering or environmental work in areas such as historical records search and maintenance, drafting, property assessment, contract preparation, surveying, graph, chart or map preparation, or public utilities activities.
- Be proficient in typing.
- Be proficient in the use of common business equipment and administrative support software, such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and accurately, both orally and in writing.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Can read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, survey notes, construction records, municipal codes, aerials, and zoning ordinances.
- Have previous experience and skill in the use of GIS software applications.
- Are familiar with Oracle eBusiness applications including iProcurement and WAM (Work & Asset Management).
