Water Division Assistant Supervisor

Under limited supervision from the Public Works or designee, the Water Supervisor directs operation and maintenance of municipal water system. Supervises water source and transmission distribution, construction & maintenance. Determines operating procedures assigns and supervises personnel, including positions operating equipment on a regular basis. Plans, organizes, inspects, and supervises the installation, operation, construction, maintenance and repair of the water pumping and distribution system of the City including budget tracking, preparation, and expenditures.

Not all functions are performed routinely, but could be required of the position at any time.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Supervises water pumping and distribution operations to achieve goals within budgeted funds and available personnel; reviews progress and makes changes in priorities and schedules as needed; establishes and implements preventative maintenance programs. Assures compliance with applicable local, state and federal regulations.
• Supervises the work of operators engaged in installation, operation, maintenance, and repair activities. Evaluates, disciplines, and participates in the selection of employees.
