What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Application Specialist, #44084 position at City of Virginia Beach?
The City of Virginia Beach is recruiting for a Business Application Specialist I to join the Director's Office division of the Planning & Community Development department. The BAS will support one or more divisions within the Planning Department.
Specific duties/responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Provide support for the Planning department applications.
- Troubleshoot and triage department software/hardware requests.
- Analyze and document department divisions’ business processes; Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and productivity.
- Maintain division’s inventory of hardware; Configure and deploy mobile hardware (MiFI, Cell phones, Tablets) used by field staff.
- Research records for FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests and City Manager inquiries.
- Create/Update custom reports (Ad-hoc and/or SQL)
- Liaison with IT Department to resolve software and/or hardware issues.
- Conduct meetings or make presentations to communicate information as requested or needed.
- Assists in department level business application support for the Accela application, including user support and training for approximately 135 users.
- Assist in software upgrades, including testing, training, and troubleshooting. Assist in developing training materials and assist in end-user training.
- Review software code and/or data for discrepancies.
