ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1 | Receives payments in person or by mail; explains payment options; explains other available options; receipts payments for bonds, fines and costs. |
2 | Enters follow-up information including new cases, case dispositions and closed case information. |
3 | Enters license forfeitures and release of forfeitures. |
4 | Assigns ticket case numbers. |
5 | Verifies monthly Ohio State Highway Patrol Leads/NCIC validation listing. |
6 | Files follow ups and closed cases. |
7 | Provides public assistance by phone and personal contact on all issues regarding Mayor’s Court activities in a courteous and professional manner. |
8 | Completes financial reports as required in a clear and concise manner. |
** Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.
IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:
In conjunction with other office personnel, provides coverage of Mayor’s office and assists citizens in a professional manner.
Performs other duties as assigned by Clerk of Court and/or Mayor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
Minimum High School diploma or GED;
Minimum one years clerical/administrative and computer experience;
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of:
Office administrative practices and procedures, such as business letter writing and the operation of standard office equipment, including a computer.
Basic accounting practices and procedures.
All computer applications and hardware related to performance of the essential functions of the job.
Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
Department organization, standard operating guidelines and policies, rules, and regulations.
Skill in:
Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up on assignments with a minimum of direction.
Applying logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks; to understand, interpret and communicate complicated policies, procedures and protocols.
Communicating orally and in writing with internal staff, citizens, Mayor, council members, and other department staff in order to give and receive information in a courteous manner.
Handling sensitive public contacts and to deal tactfully, courteously and professionally with the public in person and over the telephone.
Operating and maintaining all assigned equipment required to perform the essential functions of the job.
Accurately processing work with great attention to detail.
