Summary of Position:
The Engineer III, Asset Development will assume a role in executing and optimizing oil and gas asset development initiatives. This position carries responsibility for driving optimal economic outcomes, meticulously crafting asset development timelines, and cultivating strong governmental relationships. Leveraging their experience, the Engineer III, Asset Development will make invaluable contributions to the meticulous extraction of hydrocarbon resources, thereby safeguarding the long-term sustainability and prosperity of our operational endeavors. They may also serve as the company's official community spokesperson and will serve as the ambassador during hearings, public meetings, and agency inspections.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Build drill ready, multi-year inventory to meet best economics and established activity plan plus contingency.
- Support and execute the site selection to release-to-drill well planning process.
- Collaboratively generate Pre-Spud and D&C Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documents by gathering input from various cross-functional departments, using a streamlined workflow process and leveraging the Execute platform.
- Interface with municipalities on local permitting requirements.
- Assist with municipalities on local permitting.
- Assist with Plug and Abandonment of marginal wells and legacy infrastructure.
- Support and execute the site selection to release-to-drill well planning process.
- Collaborate amongst internal teams for the creation of Pre-Spud and D&C AFE’s, including lookback evaluations.
- Develop, sanction, deliver and communicate both master and local development plans; integrate across entire organization; identify, and manage key risks.
- Build drill ready, multi-year inventory to meet best economics and established activity plan plus contingency.
- Responsible for optimizing the development of area projects to align with company targets.
- Ensure plans comply with all regulations – ECMC, municipalities, federal, etc. Continue to push win-win alternatives/ideas to meet regulatory requirements/needs.
- Identify alternative locations that lead to faster approvals. Thorough review of all possible locations for subsurface mineral development, with details on site selection benefits and challenges.
- Collaborate with Reservoir and Planning, Drilling, Completions, Facility, Production and field teams to ensure application of lessons learned from previous projects.
- Collaborate and assist Regulatory and Permitting team with OGDP and all required permit applications and submittals.
- Help forecast area development plans in line with permitting expectations.
- May serve as the company's official community spokesperson and ambassador during hearings, public meetings, and agency inspections.
- Interface with community leaders
- Engagement with regulatory team and local municipalities on local permit applications and executions
- Attending onsite field meetings as required.

- Permitting & Project execution in urban municipalities
- Understanding of field operations and field meetings as required.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related Engineering degree. Masters degree a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of relevant oil and gas experience with an emphasis on asset development and driving and executing project development.
- Knowledge of geoscience and subsurface characterization impacting asset development required.
- History driving collaboration with a large multi-functioning team.
- Proficient in Microsoft 360 products (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Travel & Additional Requirements:
- Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Monday and Friday.
- Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
- Travel required to the Civitas field locations.
