Position Overview
The Shared Services Director will oversee the development and delivery of a cross-functional shared services department by managing teams, analyzing data, and creating metrics to improve service and cost delivery while executing on the shared services model and vision.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and produce content/metrics for quarterly and annual review meetings by acting as a consultative resource by assessing complex business situations, identifying problems through root cause analysis, and developing solution-based strategies to improve service and control expense.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of the competition and know how to differentiate CJL Logistics.
- Lead continuous improvement-based initiatives within the customers' supply chain network by developing and implementing long-range plans to incorporate technological changes.
- Support Business Development activities by exceeding customer expectations.
- Manage operating model to improve customer experience, reduce customer service cost, and increase operational support while managing relationships with carriers.
- Build effective relationships with LC Operations, Transportation, Engineering, Solutions, Human Resources, and IT teams to optimize the network.
- Set the expectation for process documentation, revising processes, document and implementations to support remote activities and improve services.
- Direct, develop, and drive a culture of accountability across the shared services department and broader teams to deliver on customer requirements.
- Connect employees to CJ Logistics America and the Customer's business objectives by building awareness around KPIs, contractual inputs, and budget commitments.
- Own and cascade corporate and organizational messages.
- Manage and implement the CJ Logistics Operating System model.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred).
- 10 years of experience in a 3PL/Supply Chain/Shared Services environment with knowledge in logistics center operations and a basic understanding of general warehousing, inventory, order fulfillment, customer service, and transportation practices.
- Experience with reviewing logistics contracts and agreements.
- Previous P&L responsibility and strong financial acumen.
- Proven customer partnership success and strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to engage and establish credibility with customer management at multiple levels in discussions to explore, understand and document their goals, priorities and challenges (voice of the customer).
- Ability to lead team development, organizational structure and have the ability to define future team designs/needs.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Continuous Improvement mentality with strong desire to build best-in-class operations.
- Project Management experience to include process innovation, service improvements and ability to drive change management and the communications required with change.
- Demonstrate proven experience to foster and manage successful relationships with senior executive stakeholders aligning expectations and achieving successful program outcomes.
- Travel up to 50% of the time.
