Job Summary:
The Vice President of Behavioral Health (VP OF BH) at Claratel Behavioral Health plays a pivotal role as a senior executive, overseeing the clinical operations of the organization’s Outpatient, Child and Adolescent, Substance Use, and Community Services departments. The VP OF BH's responsibility is crucial in ensuring that the organization delivers high-quality, compassionate, evidence-based clinical care to individuals and families needing behavioral health services. This role is instrumental in maintaining clinical quality, staff performance, and operational excellence, all while aligning with Claratel's mission and vision to improve the lives of individuals and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Oversight: Lead and manage the organization’s behavioral health clinical services to ensure the delivery of high-quality care across all programs, including outpatient, child and adolescent, substance use, and community services.
Strategic Planning and Decision-Making: Demonstrate data-driven decision-making in daily operations and long-term planning to improve clinical effectiveness, operational efficiency, and client outcomes.
Compliance and Regulatory Standards: Oversee compliance with all contractual, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. Ensure adherence to agency guidelines, ethical standards, and industry best practices.
Budget and Resource Management: Monitor departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and optimal financial stewardship. Collaborate with other departments to maintain financial integrity while achieving high-quality clinical outcomes.
Staff Leadership and Development: Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and staff support. Foster a culture of continuous professional development by ensuring clinical training, staff development opportunities, and regular performance evaluations.
Collaboration and Relationship Building: The VP OF BH is a key player in building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships internally (across departments) and externally (with community partners, referral sources, and other stakeholders). This collaborative approach is essential in promoting seamless service delivery and meeting organizational goals, making the VP OF BH an integral part of the team.
Quality Assurance: Lead and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives. Conduct regular audits and reviews of clinical documentation, ensuring that services meet or exceed established clinical and compliance standards.
Clinical and Professional Leadership: Exhibit a strong clinical and professional leadership presence, inspiring staff to provide the highest level of care. Act as a role model for clinical excellence, ethical conduct, and client-centered service.
Safety and Therapeutic Environment: Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for clients and staff, including compliance with safety standards and a supportive workplace culture.
Program Development: Oversee and participate in the planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical programming. Ensure that services are responsive to the evolving needs of clients and the community.
Support Agency Goals: Actively contribute to the strategic direction and growth of the organization by supporting and executing agency-wide goals and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education: Advanced degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. A minimum master’s level degree is required.
Licensure: Active clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, Ph.D., PsyD) in the state of Georgia
Experience: At least 10 years of experience in clinical leadership roles in behavioral health or related fields, including a minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.
Skills:
Strong clinical, administrative, and budget management experience.
Ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards and ensure compliance.
Experience in developing and leading quality improvement initiatives.
Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics to drive decisions.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to foster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive work environment.
