Our Highway Operation Staff may be your answer. The Highway Operations staff is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Clay County roads, ditches, culverts, bridges and right of ways year round, including but not limited to cutting brush, road patching, rock hauling, snow removal, and removal of trash dumped in right of ways. The team consist of members in 4 different levels of skill from Operator to Operator III who operate light equipment, trucks, and on occasion heavy equipment to accomplish assigned tasks dependent on level of position. The position has minimally requirement of a Class B CDL with ability to obtain Tanker and HazMat endorsements and ability to drive and operate equipment under normal and emergency response situations is required.
The team works a 4 day work week, Monday thru Thursday from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, and are on call for emergencies/weather events.
The hourly salary starts at $19.00 - $21.50. Title level and salary is dependent on previous experience and endorsements held. This also comes with the Clay County employee benefits package, including two defined benefit retirement plans fully funded by the County and a deferred-compensation plan with a match. Also, three medical plans to choose from including two high deductible plans with HSA plans the County deposits into, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, and supplemental plans. Full-time employees are also offered life insurance (2X annual salary) paid by the County, paid vacation/sick leave, 14 paid holidays, LTD and tuition reimbursement.
