Clayton Services is searching for a Payroll/Accounting Assistant to join a thriving company in North Houston. The Payroll/Accounting Assistant will assist with payroll, accounting, HR, and administrative tasks.
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $22.00-$25.00/hour

Payroll/Accounting Assistant Responsibilities:
- Enter time into QuickBooks, create paychecks, pay payroll taxes
- Enter Certified Payroll into the LCP tracker
- Manage new hire paperwork and send new hires for drug screenings
- Enter account payables into QuickBooks
- Print checks and prepare them to be sent out
- Enter credit card charges in QuickBooks and reconcile credit card statement
- Order office supplies
- Complete work in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)
- Answer phones, respond to emails
- Assist management with administrative tasks as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Payroll/Accounting Assistant Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Computer proficiency
- Microsoft Office proficiency, specifically Word and Excel
Payroll/Accounting Assistant Education and Experience:
- Previous payroll and/or accounting experience is required
- A minimum of a high school diploma is required
- Previous experience working in the construction industry or similar industry is a plus
- QuickBooks experience is highly preferred
