Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Hours: Full Time, M-F 8am-4pm, 35hrs/week
Summary of Position
As the Network Administrator at Clearbrook, you will be responsible to ensure the stable operation of the computer networks. This includes planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all network hardware, software and communication links. This position includes providing guidance and assistance to all employees, and building/maintaining relationships with vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Systems Management (40%):
• Perform network design and capacity planning
• Installs and maintains network file servers and network operating systems; ensures that backup copies of all files are routinely made and securely stored at separate locations; maintains system documentation
• Help Desk/Troubleshooting Support
• Diagnose problems with network equipment and performs equipment repair or upgrades when appropriate
• Stay informed about industry best practices and trends in Information Technology
• Provide training materials on system software
• Recommend systems to increase job productivity
• Provide routine and preventive maintenance on equipment
Software Maintenance (40%):
• Manage routine backups of network systems
• Maintenance and inventory of all computer equipment and peripherals
• Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
• Provide feedback on system maintenance contracts
• Ensure activity logs and other relevant data are reviewed
Development and Implementation of Future Strategies (10%):
• Meet with agency staff to analyze current/future hardware/software needs
• Develop and maintain master plan of needs
• Participate in annual strategic planning sessions
Compliance and Best Practices (10%):
• Ensure compliance with all relevant IT related laws and regulations.
• Review all current hardware, software and policies
• Stay updated on Information Technology best practices and share knowledge with the team
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technology field, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Certifications: CompTIA Network , Security , Server , Microsoft MCSA (all preferred)
Job Experience:
- At least 3 years’ experience in information technology, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
- Familiarity with network management, operating systems, M365 and other applicable technology
- Special Knowledge & Skills: Proficient in Information Technology
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities

- Demonstrated Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
