Title: Contract Specialist

Type: W2 Contract (On-site)
Pay: $45-48/hour
Summary:
Our client in the energy, oil & gas industry requires a Contract Specialist. The position oversees the 3rd party and broker confirmations working with front office personnel to resolve discrepancies. Collaborating with the vendor management team on initiatives aimed at developing commercial contracts, as well as streamlining purchase orders, sourcing, negotiations, and contracting processes.
Duties:
- Review and verify third-party and broker confirmations while documenting any discrepancies in the DEW system.
- Collaborate with team members and front office staff to address and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Engage with counterparties as necessary to facilitate the resolution of discrepancies.
- Provide support for the local implementation, adoption, and adherence to Contracting Standards and Procedures.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing and streamlining contracting processes.
- Manage assigned tasks with efficiency and effectiveness, prioritizing high levels of stakeholder engagement and management.
- Ensure the maintenance of contract files in accordance with document retention policies.
- Assist in periodic audit processes as required.
- Address and resolve contract-related issues or disputes, including those related to pricing, quality, timing, claims, and liens.
- Collaborate with the Legal department to ensure compliance with all clause owner requirements and legal regulations.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in commercial contracting within the domains of crude oil, refined products, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and/or gas and power sectors.
- Familiarity with the oil and gas industry is advantageous, and previous experience in a trade floor support role is recommended.
- Possesses a data and process-oriented approach to ensure accurate capture of deals and contracting information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, SAP, and various other technological tools.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and engage with key stakeholders in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Strong analytical capabilities, along with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, proficient in negotiating and influencing critical decisions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
