JOB OVERVIEW: We are looking for a professional with a friendly attitude and the ability to multitask in a busy environment to serve as Juvenile Court’s front desk receptionist.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access to the Judge and Magistrates
- Answer a multi-line telephone and direct calls to proper staff personnel
- Provide information to public regarding policy, procedure, court dates, etc.; prepare sign-in sheets
- Register parties for court hearings
- Record intake appointments and provide public with the proper forms for completion
- Direct them to our forms website
- Prepare detention hearing files
- Process all praecipes for subpoenas in a timely fashion
- File any and all paperwork and files daily
- Process and distribute mail
- Distribute inter-office mail and faxes
- Prepare vouchers for witness fees, court excuses for juveniles and parents
- Receipt court costs and filing fees
- Perform end of day/month fiscal procedures
- Prepare daily deposit as needed
- Accept and docket filings/motions from attorneys and other parties and forward to proper personnel
- File stamp Children’s Services’ case plans
- Perform general clerical duties; schedule hearings
- Participate in training sessions and meetings
- Assist in courtroom if needed

Requirements…
- High School education or equivalent
- Basic mathematics for calculating fines and fees
- Valid driver’s license (or the ability to obtain one prior to employment date)
