Job Overview
- The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management of the law firm. This role requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, supervisory skills, and the ability to communicate effectively to ensure the firm's financial health.
Duties
Financial Management
- Oversee all financial operations and financial planning.
- Supervise financial transactions and accounting procedures.
- Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, monthly financial and productivity reports, and other periodic financial and performance information to directors, associates and other stakeholders.
- Work with outside accountants and tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate financial and tax reporting.
- Oversee shareholder compensation process.
Employee Benefits Management
- Plan and advise firm management with respect to the utilization, cost, effectiveness, and competitiveness of various employee benefits.
- Oversee the operations of all employee benefit programs (group health insurance, 401(k)/profit sharing, short- and long-term disability, workers compensation, life insurance).
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements with respect to employee benefits.
- Maintain and advise firm management with respect to professional liability insurance, property and cyber insurance, and other risk management products and procedures.
- Manage and maintain client trust accounts (IOLTA) in compliance with professional obligations.
- Ensure compliance with title insurance agent requirements.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance.
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with the firm's goals.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Collaborate with firm management to drive the firm's strategic initiatives.
Leadership
- Lead, mentor and supervise the fiscal department to achieve goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Build and maintain relationships with outside professional advisers, financial partners, benefit providers, and vendors.
Expected Qualifications, Skills and Attributes:
- College degree in finance, accounting, or related field, or commensurate experience in financial management, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Thorough knowledge of financial operations, accounting procedures, and employee benefit plans.
- Proficiency in financial, accounting and office software and tools (including Office 365 and Juris (or similar)).
- Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
