Overview
Client First Technologies (CFT) is seeking a motivated Instructor, Tier 2, to support Training Services for the Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) located in Great Lakes, IL. As part of an instructional team that delivers training programs that support the SCSTC, the Tier 2 Instructor develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for Fleet sailors, and will deliver instruction on the maintenance of SCSTC ship-board platforms.

Responsibilities
- Instructs sailors on Surface combatant technical support platforms/systems and requires advanced knowledge of U.S. Navy Combat Systems Capabilities and Limitations
- Reviews and analyzes U.S. Navy Combat System Engineering Capabilities and Limitations and U.S. Navy Operational and Tactical doctrine
- Integrates and conceptualizes the execution of Navy Doctrine in support of SCSTC training programs
- Instructs sailors how to optimize the application of ship's Combat Systems capabilities and limitation in a dynamic operational tactical environment
- Assesses sailors' abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures; recommends methods for sailors to improve technical and tactical proficiency
- Observes Tier II contemporaries during Practice and Certification. Teaches per requirements NAVEDTRA 135
- Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates
- Conducts training gap analysis, provides formal feedback and recommendations for Course improvement
- Prepares subordinate Tier I and II employee annual performance appraisals for leadership
- Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers moderately complex Navy Combat Systems training programs and related materials in support of CSCS training objectives
- Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities
- Maintains records of training activities, participant progress, and program effectiveness.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Five (5) years of experience with the required system or process as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment.
- One (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
- Minimum of (3) three years of instructing experience to include: AC/DC circuits topics include AC test equipment; Kirchhoff’s laws; multimeter measurements; Ohm’s law; parallel circuits; resistors, current, and voltage; resonance; RL and RC circuits; series circuits; transformers; troubleshooting; and voltage division.
- Ability to conduct traditional classroom and support computer-based instruction
- Knowledge of Electronic circuit’s topics
- Understanding of electronic communications topics
- Working knowledge of fiber optics and cabling topics
- Working knowledge of electronic systems troubleshooting and maintenance topics
- Understanding of industrial safety topics
- Knowledge of rotating machines
- Knowledge of radar systems
- Understanding of industrial electronics topics
- Must be prepared to travel to training sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline
- CSTT technical or tactical qualification and experience desired
- Experience as trainer/instructor in support of CSCS/ATRC/TACTRAGRU
- US Navy Surface Fleet combat systems maintenance and operations
Physical Demands
- Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be physically able to embark shipboard for 5-10 days
