Title: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor
Reports to: Head of Production and Warehouse Operations
Summary of Qualifications:
A Shipping and Receiving Supervisor oversees incoming and outgoing activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. This individual supervises and coordinates activities related to verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, handling and transferring components, raw materials, finished goods and inventory control. The ideal candidate review and studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Performing a number of different roles related but not limited to material handling, inspecting, packaging, taping, labeling, sorting, product counts, warehouse organization, dispatch assistance, order-filling, loading and more.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor responsibilities/duties included but are not limited to:
- Carries out all responsibilities in compliance with company policies and procedures. Fully complies with current Good Manufacturing Practice’s (GMP’s), Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and OSHA Standard;
- Safely operate a forklift to move raw materials or finished products to the warehouse, throughout the building or onto trucks for distribution to customers.
- Oversee shipping/receiving teams to safely and accurately perform tasks to Clinical Health Technologies (CHT) standards;
- Understand packing and shipping procedures/requirements for all shipping partners used;
- Proactively evaluate workload/departmental priorities and adjust to ensure proper staffing and departmental quality standards are met;
- Generate shipping paperwork (e.g. preparing Packing Slips);
- Solve any issues that arise associated with carriers, routing, quality, and incoming shipments;
- Assist workers: - Unload, load, lift, push, stack packages, wrap, label, and move skids;
- Maintain accuracy of inventory through periodic cycle counts and assist in conducting physical inventories as required;
- Responsible for inspection, identification, and delivery to stocking locations and staging raw materials and components, including sorting materials/or packages to correct location;
- Book shipment on Customer Portals as required;
- Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
- Performs task with safety in mind and improving safety for others;
- Implement the use of personal protective equipment as required;
- Participate in daily meetings with team or other departments and attend CHT compliance and safety trainings;
- Evaluate staff for training needs and ensures training processes are completed;
- Complete required documentation and/or reports on an efficient and timely manner, and ensuring to keep electronic files for all paperwork associated with all outgoing shipments.
- When required, cover breaks and lunches for other employees;
- Maintain a clean, orderly and safe warehouse area;
- Assists in conducting internal audits, ensuring that warehouse associates know proper shipping and receiving procedures;
- Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

- Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction and communicate clearly and concisely both written and verbal (bilingual English/Spanish is a plus);
- Solid typing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Excellent follow-up capabilities;
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiple and divide) ;
- Forklift Certification required (min. of 3 yrs. of forklift experience);
- Initiative to work with minimal instruction or direction;
- Minimum of three years of warehouse experience.
Physical Demands:
- Must be flexible to change shift and/or schedule due to changing business needs.
- Ability to work overtime including 12-hour shifts and/or weekends.
- Must have the ability to regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel, stand for extended periods of time up to the duration of a shift, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, smell, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to learn and apply departmental /or CHT policies, procedures and rules;
- Ability to learn and apply Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations pertaining to material and product handling, workplace safety, etc.;
- Able to communicate via telephone, email, and fax to co-workers, vendors, and other individuals;
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and fumes and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration and periods of cold and hot temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
