What We’re Looking For:

Cloud9 is looking for a passionate and talented Events Intern to support our Marketing team with the full event life cycle, including planning, coordinating, executing, and post-event reporting. The Events Intern will have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event operations, logistics, and marketing while contributing to the seamless execution of various events designed to enhance Cloud9’s brand visibility, drive audience engagement, and deliver memorable experiences to our fans.

The ideal candidate must have completed at least 3 years of college/university-level education (or equivalent) in Communications, Marketing, Project Management, or a related field, and have a passion for events management and competitive esports. The Events Intern will report to the Events Manager and work closely with our Content, Design, Merchandise, Partnerships, Social, and Team Ops teams.

This hybrid full-time internship opportunity will begin on 6/16/2025 and conclude on 8/22/2025.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support with the full event life cycle, including ideating, planning, coordinating, executing, and post-event reporting.
  • Provide administrative and operational support throughout the event planning process, including taking detailed meeting notes, updating project timelines and planning documents, maintaining budget trackers, conducting vendor and venue research, preparing presentations or run-of-show materials, and assisting with compliance needs as required.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure all aspects of the event are aligned with marketing goals, deliverables, and brand standards.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to discuss contracts, manage timelines, and ensure seamless execution.
  • Assist with on-site event setup and breakdown, ensuring that all equipment is properly installed, functional, and aligned with the event layout and creative vision.
  • Track and compile post-event reports to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism when interacting with fans and attendees at events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Completed at least 3 years of college/university-level education (or equivalent) in Communications, Marketing, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in event planning and management.
  • Must be local to Los Angeles.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate community events coverage.
  • Ability to travel locally within Los Angeles and domestically within the United States.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Knowledge and passion for esports, including an interest in experiential marketing and live activations.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs during event setup and breakdown.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Ability to apply intelligence to practical, real-world scenarios, where a “book solution” doesn’t necessarily exist.
  • High growth-oriented mindset with a strong internal need for achievement.
  • Capability of adjusting behavior and actions according to what the situation requires.
  • Ability to focus on completing goals and not get discouraged easily.
  • Ability to work effectively and supportively with teammates.

  • The wage for this role incorporates the multiple factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The compensation for this internship is $25.00 per hour.
