Our organization is looking for a caring, energetic, and dedicated Director (Program Coordinator) to lead a program activities and provide a positive and academically enriching after-school experience for our K-5th grade students. The candidate selected for this opportunity will work closely with our teachers to create an after school environment where children can THRIVE. As a Club K Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of one of our after school program sites. You will supervise, coach, and communicate with your specific program site staff, and will be responsible for all operations at your site including but not limited to program quality, staff development, community partnerships, supply budgeting, and enrollment growth.
Location: This position works 50% in an office environment and 50% on-site at a public elementary school within the Beaverton School District.
Schedule: Full time position, Monday-Friday mornings and afternoons, average 32-38 hours per week - No weekends!
Compensation: Starting hourly pay rate of $20.00 plus DOE (depends on experience) and level of education (increased hourly pay is available for qualified director applicants).
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a staff of 2 teachers and 2 teacher assistants
- Ensure programming and curriculum are implemented and followed
- Plan and organize our daily before/after school program at a designated school site
- Set short and long term goals for your designated site's before/after-school program
- Perform administrative duties which include state licensing requirements and student tracking
- Establish positive communication and relationships with school personnel, students, and parents
Qualifications:
- Required - Previous supervisory and/or management experience
- Required - Basic knowledge of child development and appropriate developmental practices
- Strongly Preferred - An Associates or Bachelor’s degree in the education field
- Strongly Preferred - Any grade school (K-5th) teaching, enrichment program, or camp experience
- Strongly Preferred - Previous supervisory experience with a large group of students
Qualifications needed before the start date:
Club K will provide guidance on where and how to meet the following requirements -
- CPR & First Aid Certification - online course and in-person to be completed during new-hire training
- Food Handler’s Certification - online course to be completed during new-hire training
- Enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR)
- Prevention is Better Than Treatment - online course to be completed during new-hire training
- Introduction to Child Care Health and Safety - online course to be completed during new-hire training
- Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect - online course to be completed during new-hire training
