We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior 3rd Party Utility Coordinator located in Los Angeles, CA.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Utility Management, or a related field
Preferred Certifications/Licenses:
PMP certification or equivalent preferred; utility coordination certifications are a plus.
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess these skills and abilities:
Experience: 7–10 years of experience in utility coordination or infrastructure project management, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
Skills:
- Strong expertise in utility infrastructure, relocation, and coordination.
- Exceptional project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and utility companies.
- In-depth understanding of utility regulations and standards, including public safety and environmental considerations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with airport operations and construction standards is highly desirable.
Position Overview:
The Senior 3rd Party Utility Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the Airfield and Terminal Modernization Project (ATMP) at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). This position combines responsibilities for managing interactions with various Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) and overseeing all utility-related aspects of the project. The role involves ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and permits while managing the planning, resolution, and execution of utility requirements to facilitate smooth operations at LAX. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in project coordination, regulatory compliance, utility management, and stakeholder communication, contributing to the success of this high-profile infrastructure initiative.
Responsibilities:
- Utility Coordination & Management: Lead the planning and execution of utility relocation, installation, and protection efforts, ensuring alignment with the overall project goals and schedule.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with LAWA, utility providers, contractors, and public agencies to achieve project objectives while managing expectations and maintaining compliance.
- Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all utility work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and address potential utility-related risks to prevent delays or cost overruns.
- Scheduling & Integration: Coordinate utility work schedules, ensuring seamless integration with broader project timelines and activities.
- Documentation & Communication: Maintain detailed records of utility plans, issues, and resolutions. Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders.
- Inspection & Quality Assurance: Conduct or coordinate inspections to ensure utility work meets project specifications and standards, recommending corrections as needed.
- Budget Management: Monitor utility expenditures to ensure alignment with project budgets and financial constraints.
- Leadership & Training: Support and mentor junior team members to maintain high standards of utility coordination and project delivery.
Salary:
$125,000 - $150,000 per year
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management’s discretion.
