Right of way agent

Position Overview :

The Right of Way Agent plays a crucial role in managing and facilitating the acquisition of right-of-way (ROW) for the transmission and distribution of electrical power.

Key Responsibilities :

• ROW Acquisition : Identify, negotiate, and acquire easements and rights-of-way for transmission and distribution projects.
• Stakeholder Engagement : Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, governmental entities, and community organizations to facilitate smooth ROW acquisition processes.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all ROW activities comply with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Project Support : Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to provide ROW support for new projects and upgrades.
• Documentation : Prepare and maintain accurate records of ROW agreements, negotiations, and correspondence.
• Conflict Resolution : Address and resolve disputes with landowners or stakeholders regarding ROW issues in a professional manner.
• Site Assessments : Conduct field surveys and assessments to identify potential ROW needs and evaluate environmental impacts.
• Reporting : Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for management and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications :

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge : Familiarity with property laws, regulations, and best practices in ROW management.
• Skills : Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; proficiency in GIS and mapping software is a plus.
