We are searching for an engaging, passionate, UB Math Instructor Part-Time Temporary to help lead our College during this ever-changing Community College environment.

Essential Functions:
The program’s instructor works closely with the Upward Bound & Upward Bound Rural (UB/UBR) Project Directors to ensure success in meeting the program’s purpose and objectives by providing instruction and guidance to all students who enroll in such classes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach high school Math through Calculus and Statistics.
- Create daily/weekly lesson plans for instruction.
- Monitor and keep a daily log of student attendance, behavior, and academic development.
- Assess teaching and learning outcomes and provide essential feedback to Program Directors.
- Development of curriculum and provide a written evaluation of each participant enrolled in the class.
- Provide guidance for students in the areas of social and personal growth.
- Be on time for classes and notify the Program Directors as early as possible of an unscheduled absence.
- Provide lesson assignments and any other necessary materials or equipment for a substitute teacher.
- Report students’ behavior problems as they arise.

Environment:
Conduct job functions on the Coastal Bend College campus. There will be daily interaction with students in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Math
Previous teaching experience in high school or at a college level in appropriate discipline.
Ability to implement web-based or general technology applications into instruction.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate sensitivity towards the target area population and teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education Degree Equals Bachelor's Details Equals Training in tutoring strategies and techniques for secondary populations is preferred. Previous experience teaching/tutoring/participating in a TRIO program.
