What are the responsibilities and job description for the UB Study Hall Tutor & Coordinator Part-Time Temporary position at coastalbend?
Essential Functions:
The program’s Study Hall Tutor/Coordinator works closely with the Upward Bound & Upward Bound Rural (UB/UBR) Project Directors to ensure success in meeting the program’s purpose and objectives by providing supplemental instruction and guidance to all students in the Summer Bridge program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare for each session by securing a sign-in sheet, necessary tutorial materials, and students' schedules or list of needs.
Assist students in developing good study techniques.
Assist with coordinating lesson plans for summer instructors (if necessary).
Attend training sessions as needed.
Create daily/weekly lesson plans for instruction.
Monitor and keep a daily log of student attendance, behavior, and academic development.
Assess teaching and learning outcomes and provide essential feedback to Program Directors.
Provide guidance for students in the areas of social and personal growth.
Be on time for classes and notify the Program Director as early as possible of an unscheduled absence.
Maintain positive and respectful mentoring relationships with UB students.
Report students' behavior problems as they arise.
