SLO Ranch Farms is looking for a creative and dynamic Corral & Events Manager to oversee our event spaces, manage the petting zoo, pony rides, and develop and promote farm-related activities. The ideal candidate will have a background in event management, a passion for animal care, and a talent for creating memorable experiences for visitors. This role focuses on maximizing revenue from activities like pony rides, managing farm events, and promoting our farm’s attractions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Management: Oversee the planning, setup, and execution of events on the farm, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for guests.
- Marketing & Promotion: Develop and implement marketing strategies, including social media, for events and activities, such as: pony rides, the petting zoo, and seasonal farm activities, including the corn maze and pumpkin patch.
- Monetization: Create and implement strategies to monetize farm activities, such as pony rides, private parties and kid’s camps, petting zoo experiences, and special events.
- Staff Management: Hire, train, and supervise staff for the Corral and event spaces.
- Customer Experience: Provide exceptional customer service to all visitors, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and fostering repeat business.
- Administrative Duties: Manage scheduling, event budgets, inventory, and booking systems for the event spaces.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in event planning or managing an event space.
- Experience working with farm animals and ensuring their care and safety.
- Strong marketing and promotional skills, particularly for social media and community outreach.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy, dynamic environment.
- Creativity in developing new farm activities and events.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience managing or working in farm-related tourism or hospitality.
- Knowledge of online booking systems or ticket sales platforms.
- Experience with managing public events and creating engaging customer experiences.
