Surgery Scheduler with Medical Assistant Experience

Coastal Health Orthopedics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Surgery Scheduler with Medical Assistant experience to join our growing team. This key role will be responsible for scheduling patient procedures and surgeries, ensuring all aspects of patient care are coordinated efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of insurance verification and related processes. Additional duties may include scheduling patient appointments and referring patients to the appropriate specialists based on their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate referrals, procedure scheduling, and collaborate with call center representatives.

Greet, direct, and assist patients and visitors in person or via telecommunication.

Act as a liaison and expert for patients and practice in coordinating procedures, surgeries, and appointments.

Maintain smooth patient flow by scheduling procedures, surgeries, and appointments.

Accurately document and retrieve patient data using computerized and paper systems.

Handle registration processes, insurance verification, co-payments, authorizations, and referrals.

Assist in maintaining medical records and filing systems.

Provide clerical and secretarial support, collaborating with multiple departments.
Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in surgery scheduling required.

1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

At least 1 year of front office experience required.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong customer service skills with excellent oral and written communication.

Knowledge of medical terminology and data entry skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications
