Due to a hotel staffing restructuring, the Director of Operations position is currently open. The right candidate will have the capability to take this hotel to the highest level of customer service, cleanliness, and food and beverage standards.
The Director of Operations will report directly to the General Manager of the hotel. The responsibilities include managing the daily hotel operations to achieve strategic goals as measured by revenue, profit, RevPar index, and associate engagement while maintaining and/or exceeding company standards for guest satisfaction, quality assurance, and asset protection.
Some of Your Responsibilities:
- Provide daily oversight and support to: Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office and Food & Beverage.
- Foster, train and deliver on the IHG brand culture and brand standards. Maintain guest service excellence as the driving philosophy of the hotel. Personally demonstrate a commitment to guest service by responding to guest needs in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure all hotel staff, including new hires, know all components/features of our guest service guarantee and are trained to meet service standards; develop added value guest service programs.
- Empower hotel team members o deliver guest service by encouraging and rewarding responsive guest assistance.
- Monitor and develop associate performance to include, but not limited to: establishing department goals; providing daily supervision and professional development; conducting feedback/disciplinary discussions; completing performance evaluations; and delivering recognition and rewards.
- Analyze financial and operations information in ongoing basis to adjust business plans, labor requirements and operating costs.
- Ensure hotel staff is trained in financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories and receivables, and that these procedures are regularly followed according to company SOPs.
- Assist in the recruiting, interviewing and selection process of new associates. Create and follow up on new hire onboarding and the training process.
- Ensure hotel standards contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business objectives
- Maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with colleagues, team leaders and direct reports
Experience and Preferred Qualifications You Will Bring To The Table:
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of hotel management experience. Prefer candidates will full-service hotel experience, including food and beverage/banquet expertise.
- Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite. Previous experience with IHG systems to include hotel PMS and Time & Attendance systems.
