Busy medical practice in Del Mar is seeking an experienced Case Manager to shepherd patients from initial evaluation appointments through eventual surgery if necessary. We are based in North San Diego County, Zip code 92130.
Our multi-disciplinary practice has providers ranging from Spine and Neck specialists, to orthopedic surgeons, to Hand and lower extremity doctors, plastic surgeons, and reconstructive surgeons. It’s a one-stop shop for a variety of adult ailments and injuries.
This position requires timely and courteous communication with attorneys and their legal staff, who can sometimes be demanding. Ideal applicants must be able to develop a thick skin and deal with attorney offices with courtesy, politeness and professionalism. Candidates that are able to let things roll off their backs will thrive in this environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organized, able to multi-task, while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor but still closing the deal and getting patients scheduled in a timely manner. Once scheduled, case managers will create patient charts, order medical records, MRIs if necessary, all in preparation for patients to be seen by our physicians. After appointments, case managers handle any referrals and then bill the appointments.
Having worked in a medical office environment is required.

Must have excellent telephone skills, Ability to multitask in a high volume, busy medical office with up to four physicians handling rotating shifts on any given weekday is a must.

Bilingual, Spanish speakers are highly desirable, but this is not a deal breaker.
Duties include initially calling patients after receiving referrals, booking them for appointments with the appropriate specialist, scheduling and confirming appointments one day prior and even same day communications, providing address and clarity about which office patients are to be seen, entering patient data into our practice database, creating patient charts, making referrals for Physical Therapy or MRI’s, or Other treatments physicians deem appropriate, and then following up with patients regarding those referrals.

High School diplomas required, Bachelors degree preferred. Some travel to our various satellite office may be required, we hold a couple clinics in Murrieta and Chula Vista, however 90% of work will be done out of our Del Mar offices. Reliable transportation to Del Mar during weekdays is a MUST.
