JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: LIHEAP INTAKE CLERK PROGRAM: LIHEAP
CLASS: TEMPORARY/NON-EXEMPT REPORTS TO: CSBG DIRECTOR
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the application intake of clients applying for the LIHEAP program.
This is a temporary position that operates during the months of December through July.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interviews clients, collects required documents, and accurately completes intake paperwork.
- Perform assessment and intake services according to the program guidelines.
- Collect and maintain accurate information on the applications.
- Coordinate with local service agencies and utility companies.
- Maintain current information on services available including basic eligibility requirements for all programs.
- Treat clients, community partners, and co-workers professionally with respect and dignity always.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
- Understand and maintain the Policy and Procedures regarding client confidentiality. Do not discuss client information, services, or conversations with anyone besides necessary Coastal Plain Area EOA, Inc. staff (i.e., Coordinators and/or the Director)
- Any other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Good knowledge of social work techniques and objectives, working knowledge of programs and coordinating agencies. Must be able to communicate effectively with persons of diverse social and economic backgrounds.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- High School education or equivalent.
- Ability to work with people, including elected officials, the elderly and low-income.
- Serviceable automobile currently insured.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid Georgia Driver's License, serviceable vehicle and vehicle Liability Insurance as required by Georgia Law.
