What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Coastal Truck Driving School?
Coastal Truck Driving School (Coastal College, Inc) is currently looking for an experienced individual to take on the role of Accounts Payable Specialist.
This is a Full-Time, office-based position
In addition to the responsibilities and requirements below, the ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and have good problem solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all invoices received match an existing purchase order.
- Input all accounts payable items in QuickBooks to maintain the accounts payable system.
- Generate checks/payments for all accounts payable items.
- Input general ledger transactions used to maintain financial reports.
- Maintain good camaraderie with vendors.
- Compare vendor statements to accounts payable system to ensure all invoices are accounted for.
- Work with the division managers to ensure all weekly vendor payables are provided to accounts payable.
- Complete vendor credit applications as needed.
- Work with the Controller to ensure all student refunds are made.
- Maintain annual vendor AP files.
- Participate in any system reconciliations as needed.
- Assist in monthly and year end closing procedures.
Requirements:
- Experience with accounting software, preferably QuickBooks
- 3 years experience in payables
- Experience with cash control polices
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
