What are the responsibilities and job description for the UB Overnight Dorm Residential Advisor (RA) Part-Time Temporary position at coastalbend?
Essential Functions:
The program’s Overnight Dorm RA works closely with the Upward Bound & Upward Bound Rural (UB/UBR) Project Directors to ensure success in meeting the Program’s purpose and objectives by supervising and implementing student dorm activities. Assist the Project Directors in the enforcement of security and program policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the direct supervision of program members at the dorms during the summer program.
Responsible for the supervision of dorms and dormitory areas.
Will be “on call” during the overnight shift while at the dorms.
Attend any necessary training sessions as needed.
Supervises and implements evening activities including, but not limited to dorm checks, signing in and out of the dorms, and visitation times.
Intervene, as necessary, to protect students from injuring other students, students, and/or themselves according to policy.
Effectively communicates emergency situations in a timely manner to co-workers and the Project Directors as required. Will notify CBC Police as necessary.
Monitors student visitation periods. Ensures outside individuals sign in.
Completes required documentation in an accurate timely manner.
Maintains confidentiality of students.
Reports unusual activity, vandalism, maintenance issues, injuries, and medical concerns as needed. Notifies Project Directors as necessary. Will follow up on maintenance repair requests.
Report students’ behavior problems as they arise.

None.
Environment:
Conduct job functions on the Coastal Bend College campus dormitories. There will be daily interaction with students in a fast-paced environment.
