The role:
We are looking for a permanent full-time Accounting Manager to join our growing organization. This opportunity, reporting directly to the owner, will direct and coordinate all facets of the accounting department. The Accounting Manager is also responsible for regulatory financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies, procedures, and financial risk management. Primary Tasks:
- Manage all accounting operations.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Administer month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company’s value
- Communicate with all employees including management, clients, and others in a courteous and professional manner
- Oversee employee benefit plans, with an emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations
- Assist/review payroll submission
- Make sure that all projects are fully billed and paid before closing
· Computer proficiency, aptitude to learn specialized accounting software, exceptional skill in use of Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong leadership, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Capacity to deliver on both individual contributions and can coach and train others.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptable in a "customer-first, company-first" environment where priorities shift.
- A proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for efficiency enhancements.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related on the job experience.
· Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
· Payroll and tax reporting experience
- Creating monthly financial reports
- Knowledge of (ERP) software
- Thorough understanding of local and state labor laws
- Ability to manage a variety of personnel and develop leadership strategies
