What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller - Construction position at Cogent CRE Recruitment?
This Westchester County-based vertically-integrated real estate firm has a growing portfolio of affordable housing properties throughout the boroughs.
They are currently looking for a Assistant Controller / Senior Project Accountant to join their White Plains office* and oversee the financial management and oversight of multiple ground-up residential developments in the $20-500M range.
In order to be successful in this role, they are asking for around 5-10 years' experience. And, whilst experience working for a developer would be beneficial, they are equally interested in candidates who have worked as a Project Accountant for a construction management firm. A degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred - as is experience in Yardi software. Excellent coordination, time management and interpersonal skills are required.
This is a very hands-on role, but can lead to oversight of the construction accounting team as that is built out, so this is a great opportunity for an ambitious construction-focused accountant to broaden their skillset with an established real estate firm who are going through a sustained period of growth.
*This is a hybrid schedule with two days in the office and three remote.
Salary : $125,000 - $160,000
