POSITION SUMMARY
The Corporate Accountant will maintain financial records, prepare financial statements, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide financial analysis to support the company's decision-making process. This position will report to the Assistant Corporate Controller and work in the Scottsdale, AZ corporate office.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations:
- Deposit corporate-related checks, including GL coding for our communities.
- Assist with community bill back processing, including preparation, review, and uploading of accounting support.
- Assist in preparing intercompany files for processing, including review of supporting documentation.
- Assist with filing of State and Local sales tax returns for communities under management
General Ledger Management:
- Preparation and posting of month-end close journal entries
- Preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations
Financial Analysis:
- Provide support for special projects and process improvement.
- Assist in providing documentation and support for external audits.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- At least 1-3 years of accounting experience is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Yardi is a plus.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced growth environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
