Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Scribe to join our healthcare team. The Medical Scribe will work closely with physicians and healthcare providers to document patient encounters, ensuring accurate and timely medical records. This role is essential in enhancing the efficiency of patient care by allowing providers to focus on clinical responsibilities while maintaining comprehensive documentation.
Duties
- Accurately document patient histories, examinations, and treatment plans during outpatient visits.
- Record physician-patient interactions in real-time, ensuring all relevant information is captured.
- Assist with the management of electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with medical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify any discrepancies or additional information needed for accurate record-keeping.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and hospital medicine to facilitate effective communication with the medical team.
- Support coding processes by understanding basic coding principles related to diagnoses and procedures.
- Ensure that all documentation adheres to privacy regulations and institutional policies.
Skills
- Proficient understanding of medical terminology and concepts related to outpatient care.
- Knowledge of physiology and hospital medicine practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Level I Trauma Center protocols and procedures.
- Experience with X-Ray documentation and interpretation is a plus.
- Basic life support certification is preferred.
- Ability to perform medical-surgical documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with healthcare providers and patients.
