What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Coordinator position at College of Southern Idaho?
Under the direction of the Admissions Senior Coordinator, the Admissions Coordinator will be the high school recruiter that supports recruiting and enrollment student / parent support by working with the high school, Early College Coordinators and Enrollment Specialist teams. The Admissions Coordinator will proactively assist students with admissions processes and provide outreach communication materials for prospective or newly admitted students.
This position will represent the College of Southern Idaho at offsite locations such as high schools, college fairs, and community events and will require extensive travel commitments. Recruitment efforts will involve different methods, including but not limited to one-on-one meetings, large and small group presentations, and distance delivery utilizing synchronous or asynchronous technologies. The Admissions Coordinator is often is a first point of contact with the public and prospective students, which requires knowledge of college resources, programs, people, and policies, as well as public speaking skills with a positive attitude and a commitment to higher education.
The Admissions Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the implementation and importance placed on a student’s Sense of Belonging and student life experiences at the College of Southern Idaho. It requires a professional, dependable, flexible, organized, and friendly team member providing timely student assistance answering email, telephones, greeting the students, responding to inquiries, and assisting students / parents throughout the application, admission, and transition to campus processes.
In addition, the Admissions Coordinator will continually assess and improve the effectiveness of various recruiting, outreach, and retention strategies (to include but not limited to utilizing the PowerBI reports) to ensure maximum yield and return on investment. The coordinator will advocate the value of a postsecondary education, including workforce training, Bridge, CTE and apprenticeships, to help students achieve individual education goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops and delivers presentations, workshops, and seminars related to becoming a CSI student.
- Assists prospective students with various aspects of the admission applications, registration, orientation, college events, and financial aid application processes.
- Assists with processing applications - admit new and returning students to the College.
- Works closely with student services staff from Enrollment Services, advising, Financial Aid / scholarships, Office of the Registrar, etc.
- Presents information about the benefits of an education from the department, college or area being represented at offsite locations and to on campus group tours.
- Regular travel to recruitment events to region 4, 5, and 6.
- Support Early College Coordinators and Admissions Office with any recruitment support for prospective students within Regions 4, 5, and 6. Recruitment support includes but not limited to, participating in high School enrollment days, college fairs, and community events.
- Representative for IACRAO’s Higher Education Junior Tour Coordinator in Regions 4, 5, and 6.
- Utilize IR data tools to collect, retrieve, and analyze student information at the respective high schools for recruiting and transition purposes as a regular job functionality.
- Assist with the development of enrollment marketing publications and communications including letters, brochures, website postings, electronic mail, and other mediums.
- Develops communication materials for prospective or newly admitted students within a specific territory or specific population, including Power Points and print materials.
- Assist with Admissions social media.
- Coordinates comprehensive recruitment strategy for the top 10 prospective high schools in the state.
- Develops recruitment strategies for neighboring states.
- Assist with and attend CSI Admissions Events, including Eagle Explore, Sigue Adelante, Instant Enrollment Days, Group Tours, etc.
- Implement plans for parent outreach throughout the year.
- Work with middle school students and staff to increase college visibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
