MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Peer Support workers are people who help others experiencing similar situations with substance and/or mental health disorders. They are successfully participating in recovery and desire to partner with prevention and clinical staff to guide patients through the prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery stages.
The minimum requirements are a high school diploma, GED/ jurisdictionally certified high school equivalency.Applicants must have at least 3 years in recovery and actively participating in self-help meeting to be considered for the job, once hired the Peer Support Specialist will be required to become certified within three (3) years from hire date. The agency will cover all cost related to the certification process.
Colleton Pillars4Hope is looking for a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) to offer hope, support, and advocacy to others through their own life experiences with using substances and living in recovery. Peer support workers engage in a wide range of activities such as but not limited to, advocating for people in recovery, sharing resources and building skills, educating and building community relationships, leading recovery groups, mentoring, and assist with setting goals and completing the GPRA with patients. PPS offer guidance and support to identified patients who are struggling with substance abuse, trauma, and/or mental health disorders.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
