What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skidder Operator position at Colonial Logging & Timber Corporation?
Colonial Logging & Timber Corporation is seeking a safety conscious, professional and productive logging equipment operator.
We are specifically looking for a skidder operator. In this position, the skidder operator will pull the timber from the forest to the loading area, and also assist with preparing trucks for transport of timber to the mill. This is a physically demanding job, working outside in all weather conditions.
Monday-Friday, day shift, with occasional Saturdays.
Responsibilities and Duties
Pull timber from the forest to the loading area.
- Keep the loading area clean and full of timber to load.
- Assist in preparing trucks for transport to the mill
- Perform at a SAFE and productive pace
- Carry oneself in a professional manner that reflects positive for the company
- Daily Inspection of all oil and fluids
- Daily maintenance (example: greasing & trash cleanup)
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous work-related skill, knowledge, and/or experience are required.
- Safely operate a chainsaw
- Report to work at the designated start time
- Be able to work overtime when required
- Have a valid drivers license
- Have a vehicle to drive to and from the jobsites
- Be respectful and courteous to others
- Take pride in the job you're doing
